Family Medicine Facts in Olds
Where?
Family Medicine in Olds is provided at the Wild Rose Medical Centre, next door to the Shopper’s Drug Mart, 4607-50 Avenue, Olds. Pre-Natal and up to six week Post-Natal care is provided to Obstetrical patients at the Peaks to Prairie’s Primary Care Network clinic.
Medical Services for seniors residing in Seasons, Seasons Encore and the Mount View Lodge facilities are provided on site in each facility where physicians are able to visit seniors needing care without them having to travel to the main clinic.
Olds College Students are able to access medical services on campus at the clinical office where family physicians provide on site care.
Who?
There are 14 Family Physicians at the Wild Rose Medical Centre. These physicians provide comprehensive medical services at six clinics located throughout Olds, and provide medical care at the Olds Hospital and Care Centre. This includes the Wild Rose Medical Centre, Primary Care Network, the Olds College, the Mount View Lodge, Seasons and Seasons Encore. The Wild Rose Medical Centre physicians have hospital privileges and provide rotational care in the Emergency Department, Operating Room, Acute Care, Long Term Care, providing low risk maternity care and delivery, and end of life palliative care.
When?
The Wild Rose Medical Centre is open five days a week excluding statutory holidays, Monday through Friday from 8:15 – 5:00 p.m. Phone lines open at 7:45 a.m.

Same Day Services are provided daily starting at 8:30 Monday through Friday. There are a finite number of Same Day appointments each day, once there are filled patients with urgent medical needs will be directed to the Olds Hospital and Care Centre. We are NOT a WALK IN clinic. Others will be asked to either book an appointment or return to attend the next day.
Why?
Having a Family Physician to care for you when you are ill provides continuity of care and local knowledge when you need someone to care for you. The physicians at the Wild Rose Medical Centre keep your medical chart confidential, and it is only accessible to physicians of the Wild Rose Medical Centre who may care for you, either through an appointment at one of the clinics in town, or at the Olds Hospital. Having a Medical Home provides patients with better care and is supported by the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
