The Wild Rose Medical Centre currently has fourteen family physicians: Dr. Turner, Dr. Hoeve, Dr. Nel, Dr. Onsongo, Dr. Duong, Dr. Kutskyy, Dr. Dykin, Dr. Ingles, Dr. Rodych, Dr. L. Blackshaw, Dr. M. Blackshaw, Dr. Sloan, Dr. LeBreton, and Dr. Lewis.
Medical Education: Teaching tomorrow's Family Physicians today.
The Wild Rose Medical Centre is a teaching site for medical students and Family Medicine residents of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Calgary and the University of Alberta.
Your physician may have medical students and/or medical residents working with him/her from time to time. A medical student is someone who is currently enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine at a University pursuing a degree in Medicine. A Family Medicine resident is someone who has finished their medical degree, and is in the two year Family Medicine residency program at a University. Following a successful two year Family Medicine residency program graduates are able to practice independently as Family Physicians.
Medical students and residents are paired with a supervising Family Physician who has additional teaching education, from the University of Calgary, and/or University of Alberta . All supervising Family Physicians take on additional responsibilities to teach, review and oversee all medical care of patients who are seen and cared for by medical students and residents. It is your decision as to whether you would like to see a medical student, resident or the Family Physician with whom you have your appointment with.
We appreciate the participation of patients, health care providers and physicians at the Wild Rose Medical Centre in supporting the education of future family physicians.
