Month: March 2018

The staff and physicians of the Wild Rose Medical Centre would like to wish our patients and the community of Olds a wonderful Easter.  The clinic will be closed on Good Friday, March 30th and will be open on Easter Monday, April 2nd with regular business hours.

The Wild Rose Medical Centre wishes Alison the very best in her new endeavors as she relocates to another community.  She will certainly be missed.  Joyce will transition in to the Referrals Department working along side Tina.  Congratulations Joyce!  Wanda has joined the team in the Admin Department.  It is great to welcome her to the Wild Rose Medical Centre. Great to have you with us Wanda!

We are so excited that the Olds College Student’s Association  has chosen the Wild Rose Medical Centre as the Business of the Year.  Dr. Gert Nel, one of the physicians who serves at the Olds College clinic received the award on behalf of he Wild Rose Medical Centre.  Physicians from the Wild Rose Medical Centre are on campus two days per week from September through May providing medical services to Olds College students and staff members.

Dr. Martha Ingles is currently on a maternity leave as she anticipates the birth of her twins.  Dr. Ingles anticipates that she will be away from her practice until the fall, returning to work in November.

Dr. Joanna Slusar will be covering her practice during this time.

Dr. Turner would like to let his patients know that he has accepted a new medical leadership position with Alberta Health Services, as Associate Chief Medical Information Officer for Central Zone.

Dr. Turner will be taking a six month leave of absence from his clinic practice, from April 1st to September 30th, 2018.  This is to allow him to complete some previous work for Alberta Health Services, and get started on the work needed to help bring computerized medical records into all of the province’s hospitals.  Some of this work will include creating new ways for patients to access their medical information online, when they require services from AHS facilities and programs.

Dr. Turner plans to return to clinical work starting October 1st, 2018.

Dr. Turner will have 2 locum doctors covering while he is away.  Dr. Dalynne Peters will be covering from April 1  through June 30, and Dr. Richard Chan will be covering from July 1 through September 30, 2018.  They will have access to your medical information and can assist you with your concerns while I am away.  If these physicians are unavailable there are other opportunities to see other physicians at our clinic.

Thank you for your understanding.

Dr. Steven L. Turner. B. SC., MD, FCFP.
